Liberal Democrats in Hounslow have given their support to the campaign to save Chiswick Lodge Hospital from closure.
The Lodge, a part of Chiswick life for almost a century, is under threat from its current owner, the Ealing, Hammersmith, and Hounslow Health Authority.
Its supporters are organising a cross-party protest campaign to challenge the disposal of this vital asset.
Jim Daly, chair of Hounslow Liberal Democrats and a Chiswick resident, pledged support for the campaign. He said,
"We are utterly opposed to any plans to shut Chiswick Lodge and sell the site.
"For as long as I have lived in Chiswick, the Lodge has been an integral part of our community, offering care and support to those in need.
"I, for one, have no intention of standing back and watching it disappear without a fight. I urge anyone who feels the same to support the letter writing campaign and other activities planned by the Save Chiswick Lodge campaign."
