Turnham Green was bustling with the annual Liberal Democrat Fair on Saturday 17th September. In line with the Party's election results - their candidate Andrew Dakers' share of the vote surged from 13.5% (2001) to 22.8% in this year's general election - so the number of stall holders increased this year to over 40 separate stalls. The excellent weather drew in even more customers than usual.
Four Lib Dem constituency parties had stands on Turnham Green, alongside the Brentford Festival, Chris Poland Handbags, Sian's Showstoppers Drama Academy, Shooting Star, Hounslow Crossroads with Multiple Sclerosis and clusters of bric-a-bric specialists, to name but a few.
Anacousis Jazz Quintet from Isleworth serenaded shoppers in the lunchtime sun making the fair a thoroughly enjoyable end of summer outing.
Organiser, Chris Dakers said: "I am absolutely delighted. We have sold more spaces than in many years and our stall holders report excellent trade!"
