H98 bus stop where passengers are left waiting in the wind and rain with no shelter
We read with interest the article in The Hounslow Chronicle (January 5) about the bus stop on the Bath Road near Waye Avenue in Cranford. You must mean the east bound stop which in 2004 was moved from being right opposite Waye Avenue to its present less convenient location, and without providing a bus shelter.
There is another bus stop on the A4 in Cranford which has done without a bus shelter since the summer of 2005. It is the west bound stop near the Travellers Way, which was never moved, but one day last year we found that the shelter had disappeared, without any explanation given.
In the winter especially, waiting for the bus in the wind and rain can be a very uncomfortable experience. A bus shelter also offers a seat, and especially when waiting for the often delayed 81 service to Slough, a seat is badly needed. It is not a new stop, so there should be no need for planning permission to replace an existing shelter!
Please TfL, with bus tickets gone up to £1.50 you should be able to afford decent shelters!
