Bath Road / A4 and the Armytage Road where the footpaths need to be cleaned up
In the January 5 issue of The Hounslow Chronicle a mention was made about bushes near Pegg Road, and the mess they are in.
There are very few bushes on Pegg Road, and reading the rest of the article I think somebody was talking to your reporter about the state of the footpath between the Bath Road / A4 and the Armytage Road, one of the roads off Cranford Lane in Heston West.
Potential for a new park?
The good news is that we have new street lights along this footpath, which makes it feel a lot safer at night. But otherwise all the way along the path you find a choice collection of rubbish of every kind. I like bushes, but bushes full of discarded carrier bags and drink cans are not very attractive.
Between the footpath and the Parkway (A312) is an open field which was part of the farm on the Bath Road. Recently, instead of farming, Thames Water has been doing some mysterious digging in the field.
I often dream that this field could become a wonderful new park for Heston & Cranford - as an antidote to our polluted air - and where young and old residents can play football, cricket or whatever other sport they fancy.
