Andrew Dakers is calling on local MP Ann Keen and the Labour government to commit to not abolishing "runway alternation" and replacing it with "mixed mode"
Since 10th September all flights arriving at Heathrow have landed on the North runway due to repair work. This means planes are constantly flying over Brentford, Chiswick, Hounslow & Isleworth - we never get a break.
Previously if we had planes overhead in the morning there would be a break from 3pm when the planes would switch runways. This is called "runway alternation".
Can our MP Ann Keen - a member of this creaking Labour government - please assure us that she and her colleagues will not seek to abolish "runway alternation" and replace it with "mixed mode", which would mean constant use of both runways. Not only would "mixed mode" increase noise levels, but also add to air pollution. 10 weeks of constant interruption is more than enough!
